Happy Days: Little Things & Big Things

Welcome to Happy Days! Katy and I host this linky with the purpose of inspiring you to make the most of each day, no matter what you've been up to, and to find happiness in every day. It's where I share the little moments that have brought me joy.

"Enjoy the little things

This week has just flown by, there has been so much going on and I feel a little wired from it all. The EU referendum result has come as a bit of a shock and has been on my mind a lot, but we can only move forward from here. It's time to think positively!

What has made me happy this week?

  • Watching The Revenant with Ian. We don't get much time together, so it's extra special when we do find the time. And it was a fantastic film. I love Leonardo DiCaprio, he is just superb.

  • Playing in the park with J. This kid adores slides, he goes crazy for them, so he was really excited when we went to the Jubilee Gardens in Shuttleworth. They have at least five different slides there!

  • We all went to Cambridge on Father's Day, just for a spot of lunch and a change of scenery. We bought a few clothes for Little N, and some chocolates for Ian's dad. It's such a gorgeous city, I really enjoy spending time there.

  • Watching a snail. I found a rather big snail on Little N's sand table, so I set it on the wet ground and the boys watched as it came out of its shell, stretched its antennae and slithered away. They were fascinated - as was I.

  • I have peas! The pea plants on my living den have now got lots of peapods so in a few more days we will be able to harvest some fresh peas. The only problem is that it looks like the pea plants aren't going to grow any taller, so I will have to plant beans as well to finish the den.

  • We've finally sorted Little N's nursery place for September. Next week I'll be going into the nursery for a parents' meeting which I'm excited about. It's crazy how the time flies, it feels like he was born just a few months ago yet here he is, nearly four, and about to start nursery school. He'll have a little uniform and a PE kit, too, how cute is that!

  • Spending some time with Kasia Burke, a local photographer. She's been helping me master my camera as there is just so much still to learn. I'm looking forward to doing her sunset workshop in a few weeks' time.

  • I've been offered a place to study midwifery. I can't believe it! I feel like I'm at a fork in the road now and will have to decide what's best, as starting university this year means I won't see the boys very much for the next three years. So I have a very big decision to make.

I'm heading to Britmums this weekend, I'll be there with Katy so if you're going make sure you say hi if you spot us. Have a smashing weekend!

  7. Sounds like a fab week. Brilliant news on the midwifery course I know 3 years may seem like a long time but think of your long term future in the scale of things it isn't. Really pleased for you. Hope you enjoyed Brit Mums.
