I had a £50 Frugi voucher to spend so headed over to www.welovefrugi.com to choose some new clothes. Frugi make clothes that are “cut4cloth” – because cloth-bummed babies, like Baby N, end up with a bit of a bigger bottom so most regular baby clothes don’t fit quite right - and all their clothes are made from ethically manufactured organic cotton with the most wonderful prints and designs. I was so excited when this gorgeous package arrived earlier today!
I picked the Frugi Baby Dino Layered Top (£18), a blue t-shirt layered with grey long sleeves and a funky appliqued dinosaur. It has poppers on both sides of the next which makes getting changed a doddle. The material on this top feels so soft and snuggly!
I know it’s only October, but I couldn’t resist buying Baby N’s Christmas pyjamas. Well, Christmas sleepsuit I should say. The Frugi Christmas Robin Babygrow (£16) features lots of little robins on ice skates wearing bobble hats, it’s just too cute for words.
I also spotted the Frugi Christmas Robin Envelope Top (£18) and just couldn’t resist adding it to my basket. Baby N will wear this on Christmas day! I love the Cornish blue stripes and the appliqued robin is so sweet. The envelope neckline will be handy for quick changes if Baby N spills his Christmas dinner on himself!
As it’s National Chocolate Week, Frugi have been including bars of Divine chocolate in orders this week. Look at my cheeky monkey trying to steal it! Can you believe he is going to turn 1 in a couple of weeks?! Crazy!
Do you dress your little one in Frugi clothes? Do you use cloth nappies? Let me know, I love finding other cloth bum mums!

I was so excited about this month’s beauty box from Birchbox as I’d seen the spoilers, so when I got the dispatch email I decided not to leave the house until Mr Yodel arrived. Luckily I didn’t have to stay in all day!
Beauty Buzz is the theme of the October beauty box from Birchbox, celebrating award-winning products and celebrity favourites.
♥ Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser This is the product that got me all excited and the reason why I spent half my day indoors waiting for the courier! I’ve heard that this is amazing, with a sheer, lightweight formula to add a healthy glow. I can’t wait to try it, I just hope it matches my skintone! (14.7ml)
♥ KMS Curl Up Wave Foam Mousse My hair has a bit of a natural wave to it but most of the time I leave it as it is or I straighten it out; this product encourages curls while protecting from heat so I’m keen to see how it works on my hair. (75ml)
♥ theBalm Cosmetics Stainiac This product is quite similar to Benefit’s Benetint, a sheer lip and cheek stain. (1.2ml)
♥ Dr Lipp Nipple Balm for Lips I’ll be honest, I think this is a way overpriced product. Lansinoh nipple cream contains 3 times the amount of the same product and it’s cheaper too. Faced with the choice of 15ml of lanolin cream for £11.00 or 45ml of lanolin cream for £9.00, it’s a no brainer which one I’d pick! (3ml)
♥ Akane Mask Cocoon Nocturne A gorgeous smelling mask that is used overnight to hydrate tired thirsty skin. It sounds wonderful, I can’t wait to use it. (12ml)
♥ Egyptian Magic These three sachets of this cult multi-purpose skin cream are a ‘beauty extra’ in this month’s box. It’s an all-natural cream which can be used on skin and hair. (3 x 3ml)
♥ UltraDEX Interdental Brushes I’m obsessed with looking after my teeth. I had braces in my teens so don’t want to ruin the hard work I went through! These brushes are a ‘lifestyle extra’. (30 brushes and travel case)
I pretty much say this every month, but once again Birchbox have nailed their beauty box. I love, and will use, everything that’s in it this month. There’s also a little teaser telling us that next month’s box will contain another Laura Mercier product, I can’t wait to find out what that’s going to be!
If you like the look of the Birchbox beauty box and want to sign up, please feel free to use my referral link:http://birchbox.co.uk/?raf=674. The box costs £10 per month plus p+p.

It’s safe to say I’m pretty obsessed with baking at the moment, especially brownies. I decided to have a go at combining a few of my favourite things with them: salted caramel and popcorn. The first attempt I put the caramel on top but it went rock hard in the oven. I had another go, this time layering the caramel in the middle, and they came out perfectly gooey and chewy! Here’s my salted caramel and popcorn brownie recipe.
Ingredients List
- 200g dark chocolate
- 175g butter
- 325g caster sugar
- 130g plain flour
- 3 medium eggs
- 397g can of condensed milk
- The Cornish Sea Salt Co original salt
- a few handfuls of plain popcorn`
Step 1: Brownies
- 200g dark chocolate
- 175g butter
- 325g caster sugar
- 130g plain flour
- 3 medium eggs
Melt the chocolate and butter in a bowl over a pan of simmering water. Once melted and smooth, remove from the heat and stir in the sugar, then stir in the flour and finally the eggs.
Step 2: Salted caramel
- 397g can of condensed milk
- 2-3 pinches of salt – I used salt from the The Cornish Sea Salt Co
Empty the condensed milk into a pan, add 2-3 pinches of salt – you can add more or less depending on your taste – and heat gently, stirring all the while. It will start to thicken; when you can turn a spoon upside down without any caramel falling off it’s ready! Don’t be tempted to overcook it.
Step 3: Putting it all together
Pour half of your brownie batter into your lined baking tray. Spoon over your salted caramel. Sprinkle over a few handfuls of popcorn. Pour over the other half of the brownie batter.
Step 4: Bake!
Bake in a preheated oven for 35 minutes at 170 degrees.
Step 5: Enjoy!
I’m totally blowing my own trumpet here, but these are the most amazing brownies in the world! You have got to try making them, they’re really quick and easy to do. The only problem is, it’s hard to stop at one…

I got through loads of products last month! I don’t really know why some months I use a lot and some months it seems I don’t very much at all, I’m sure my daily routine doesn’t change that much. Here are my September Empties.
♥ Antipodes Divine Face Oil – One of my most favourite face oils ever, I had another bottle of this lined up ready to use! It’s run out a lot quicker than expected – I found out that my fiancé has been putting it on my stepson’s dodgy skin (he has an inflamed bit around his mouth from thumb sucking). Annoying! I will hide my new bottle!
♥ Neal’s Yard Remedies Power Berry Daily Moisture – This was a free gift with a magazine; by the time I finished the tube I’d decided I didn’t like it – too runny and I don’t like the smell. It’s a shame, I usually love NYR products.
♥ Bluemandarines Skinlife Energetic Cellular Cream – I loved this moisturiser, it came in a Birchbox. After I started using it my skin really perked up but I started using La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo at the exact same time so who knows which product was really doing the work! I have some Birchbox points to use up and I am kind of tempted to get a jar of this…
♥ Natio Renew Radiance Foam Cleanser – Another Birchbox sample. I used this as my AM cleanser in my morning shower. It feels really rich and luxurious, a lovely morning treat for my skin.
♥ Blanc Cachemire Protecting Day Cream – This was also a Birchbox sample but unfortunately just felt too heavy for my skin.
♥ Carole Franck Fluide Fraicheur – Yep, another Birchbox moisturiser sample! I love this, it was just the right consistency and has the most gorgeous light, floral scent.
♥ Geo Organics Atlantic Sea Salt for Bathing – I got this in a “Smile Exchange” I did recently on one of my parenting groups. This salt just dissolves in the bath water; it doesn’t have any exciting smells or colours but it leaves your skin feeling cleansed, soothed and soft.
♥ Soap & Glory Foam Call Body Wash – Oh look, another giant Soap & Glory product. I feel like my Soap & Glory stash is never going to end. I was sick of this by the time it ran out!
♥ Aussie Miracle Shine Conditioner – Aussie is a brand I often come back to using, and I’ve been giving them a go again recently. I love the “Aussie” scent, you know the sort of bubblegum scent, and the Miracle Shine range has left my hair looking and feeling fabulous.
♥ Nivea Good-Bye Cellulite 10-Day Serum – I thought I was seeing results using this and then I thought, who am I kidding?! Diet and exercise people, diet and exercise.
♥ Molton Brown Ylang-Ylang Body Wash – I got this in a Birchbox, I love Molton Brown products and the Ylang-Ylang range is so gorgeous. Love!
♥ Aromatherapy Associates Revive Bath & Shower Oil – I have no idea when I got this, I just found it in my stash so decided to use it. It contains Pink Grapefruit, Rosemary, Juniper Berry, Pine, Coconut Oil to detox, invigorate and energise body and mind. It smells amazing, but then so does everything from Aromatherapy Associates!
♥ La Roche-Posay Redermic R – This came from What’s In My Handbag and is a retinol-based treatment to reduce the appearance of fine lines and age spots. I didn’t really notice anything amazing happening to my skin, I guess I’m just not old enough yet! ;)
♥ RMK Cleansing Balm – This rose-scented balm came from Birchbox and is a pleasant cleanser to use due to its lovely scent but I’ve used many other more effective cleansers.
♥ Soap & Glory Dr Spot – It’s not empty, but it doesn’t work so into the bin it goes.
♥ Simple Soothing Facial Toner – I’m trying to be good and include a toner in my skincare regime, so started by using this one from Simple. I had received it at Christmas. It’s nothing to write home about but it’s very gentle.
♥ Inner Me Lustrous Locks Vitamin Complex – Okay, so I was never going to see amazing results with only 2 weeks worth of vitamins, but I thought I would at least see the condition of my nails improve. Nope, my nails got flaky and started peeling. So I’ve switched back to a normal multi-vitamin.
♥ Collection Illuminating Touch Brightening Concealer – I’m using this as a high street alternative to my beloved YSL Touche Eclat, which I also used up, as I don’t have funds for such luxuries on a daily basis. It does the job well enough!

Lush Cupcake Fresh Face Mask
Last month I posted on Instagram that I’d had another Hello Fresh delivery; I thought you might like to see how the meals turned out. I received a box during week 36 which had the all ingredients to make "Simple" Sumptuous Sea Bream with Tomato Concasse & Crispy Potatoes, Minted Lamb & Feta Burgers with a Crunchy Summer Salad, and Vietnamese BBQ Chicken Skewers with Ginger Rice.
All three of these meals were so amazing that I just can’t pick a favourite. I’ve kept all of the recipes cards so I recreate them again in the future – in fact I have already made the Vietnamese BBQ Chicken Skewers since!
I get the 3 meals for 2 people box which costs £39.00. It arrives with all the ingredients in the required quantities and full instructions on how to cook each meal. You can get £20 off your first box with my referral code. Simply go to Hello Fresh and enter discount code C4MJSY.
