Happy Days: Bewildered & Bold

"Happiness is not something ready made. It comes from your own actions."

Welcome to Happy Days! Katy and I host this linky with the purpose of inspiring you to make the most of each day, no matter what you've been up to, and to find happiness in every day.

Isn't January just flying by? It feels like only yesterday we were celebrating the new year yet here we are about to head into the final week of the month! Last weekend was very quiet, I didn't do much at all other than potter about doing chores at home and blog admin. The week has been pretty busy though.

Little N has been going to preschool for three weeks now and this week he asked to go an extra day. He has a place for five sessions a week, but we decided to start him of with just three sessions until he was well settled. He is such a charming character and all the staff know him already. I had the joy of receiving three pieces of art that N had completed at preschool this week, it absolutely makes my day each time. I say this all the time but I am so proud of him.

I had a fabulous day with my Nanna on Thursday. She comes every week to see us and looks after J whilst N has his swimming lessons. His lesson this week went really well; he had a few tears at the start as always but settled within minutes. His teacher told me to leave the poolside as she thought he was crying for my benefit, and as soon as I was out of sight he perked right up!

Do you remember me talking about Chef Martin Burke's awesome falafel wrap last week? Well, I discovered that he does a delivery service so I ordered a box for me and my Nanna - it was soooo good. I wish I could have it for my lunch every day. Ian has been talking to Martin about catering for our wedding, exciting!

Yesterday I took J to a toddler group on his own for the first time ever. He has been to toddler groups before, tagging along with Little N. Today though we went just for his benefit while N was at preschool. He had a lovely time, though he seemed a little bewildered without his big brother there! He especially loved the singing at the end and got really into it. I need to find a local music or dance class to take him to more regularly.

This weekend is going to be a busy one. One of Little N's friends is having a birthday party today and tomorrow we're going for lunch to celebrate my Nana's 75th birthday. Have a lovely weekend whatever you're up to!

Over to you...

  3. Thats lovely that you spend a day every week with your Nana, mine is in Essex when we lived in Essex I saw her every week, bless her she is losing her memory a little now though, music and dance classes are a great idea too, its so good for confidence skills, if you can dance and sing in front of people you can do anything x

  5. So glad that little N is enjoying preschool and always lovely when they bring artwork home. J sounds like he enjoyed toddler group even if he was a little confused that his big brother wasn't with him. Hope you all had fun at the birthday party today and enjoy celebrating your Nana's birthday over lunch tomorrow :-)

  10. That's wonderful that N is doing so well at school. It's worrying when they head off for the first time. It's a good idea to start him part time. It's lovely that J had some time to explore on his own without his big brother although I know how he'd be lost, it's the same with my kiddies. Thanks so much for hosting x
