REVIEW: Baker Days Letterbox Cake

Baker Days Letterbox Cake

Can you believe that this yummy Baker Days Letterbox Cake was sent to me by post?! When the lovely people at Baker Days asked me if I’d like to review one of their letterbox cakes I was intrigued. Would it make it through the postal system in one piece? It did! Would it break as it landed on my doormat? It didn’t! Would it still be fresh when it got here? It was!
Starting at £14.99 including delivery, there are over 400 designs and 5 cake flavours to choose from:  Madeira, lemon, fruit, carrot and double chocolate chip. I got the Madeira cake and it was delicious! You can personalise your cake with a message and can even upload a photo to appear on your cake.  The cake arrived in a cute little keepsake tin (which keeps it fresh for 10-12 days) as well as balloons, a party horn, candles and a little gift card.

With all the various box postal services around at the moment – coffee boxes, snack boxes, beauty boxes – I had wondered how long it would be until someone came up with a way of sending cakes by post. I think this is a fantastic idea and perfect for sending to a friend or relative if you can’t actually be there to celebrate a special occasion with them.
A friend’s birthday is coming up soon and even though I will see her for her birthday I might just send her a letterbox cake as a fun surprise to put a smile on her face. Who doesn’t love cake!

Disclosure: I was sent a Baker Days Letterbox Cake for free for review purposes, however all thoughts and opinion remain my own. With thanks to Baker Days for my sample.
