Happy Days: Flowers & Falafel

"It is not how much we have, but how much we enjoy, that makes happiness."

Welcome to Happy Days! Katy and I host this linky with the purpose of inspiring you to make the most of each day, no matter what you've been up to, and to find happiness in every day.

It's been really easy to pick my happy moments from this week, as there have been so many! Last week ended on a high as Ian and I made time to go on a date. Without the children. Oh yes! We went to the cinema to see Star Wars and despite the fact that I have never seen any of the other Star Wars films I thoroughly enjoyed it! It was the second time Ian had watched it, he didn't spoil any of it for me though.

Little N is enjoying preschool so much that he doesn't want to leave when I go to pick him up! I am so happy he is enjoying it though and yesterday he made me a butterfly while he was there! He isn't usually one for drawing or painting, so I was over the moon when he gave it to me at pick up and I will be saving it to put in his memory box.

N is also making fantastic progress at swimming and seemed to really enjoy his lesson this week. He was upset at first - he always seems hesitant to get into the water - but once he got going he was full of smiles. One of the other mums told me that her son had been the same when he first started, so it's reassuring to know that others have been through the same and that their children now enjoy it!

Yesterday after preschool I took the boys to town as I wanted to get some fresh flowers from the market. One of my goals for this year is to always have a vase of flowers at home as it really brightens the place up and it just makes me feel happy when I see them. It was a beautiful sunny but cold day so we went to Starbucks where I got N a hot chocolate and a coconut milk latte for me, and the boys shared some caramel wafers. We went to the market and bought some Dutch freesias. I have no idea what they'll look like when they bloom, but they sounded lovely! I also treated myself to a falafel wrap from Chef Martin Burke's stall. If you are ever in Hitchin, you must try his falafel wraps!

Over to you...

I love the idea of having fresh flowers in the house each week too, my friend does this and it really does brighten a room and your mood, if my children didn't eat flowers I'd love to have some too! #happydays
