Beauty Spot: Weleda's #CleanerBeauty Campaign

I have always had a preference for natural beauty products and recently I have been making more of an effort to make conscientious decisions about what to buy for myself and my family. Weleda have been making "clean beauty" products since 1921, factoring in not only natural ingredients but thinking about sustainability and the environment too. With Cleaner Beauty becoming a bit of a trendy term for 2018, the brand want to make it clear what it means to them.

Jayn Sterland, Managing Director of Weleda UK, says: “For Weleda, cleaner beauty is about taking a complete holistic approach to your personal care routine, minimising the impact on the world around us and strengthening mind, body and spirit. Consumers are becoming more informed in the choices they make, highlighting their desire for the principles Weleda have held true for over 90 years. Whether it’s through the natural products we develop, our commitment to sustainability, biodynamic cultivation, nurturing our team of Wellbeing Advisors or pioneering in ethical practices, cleaner beauty runs through everything we do, and it always has”.

Every single one of Weleda’s natural and organic cosmetics is NATRUE certified, and free from artificial additives such as synthetic fragrances, GMO ingredients, mineral oils, silicones and petroleum derivatives. Weleda’s hero skincare product, and one of my personal favourites, Skin Food (£12.50, 75ml) has been available in an unchanged formulation since 1926, truly positioning Weleda as a leader in cleaner cosmetics.

As part of their #CleanerBeauty campaign Weleda are encouraging us all to wake up naturally and stay that way. To think about what beauty products we use and switch to cleaner choices. Every day as part of our routine our bodies are bombarded with synthetic ingredients that are hidden in our every day essentials; such as in our shower gel, deodorant, shampoo and toothpastes. I have already made the switch to hard soap instead of shower gel, and natural deodorant balm instead of antiperspirants, but I still have some way to go. I don't like waste, so as I finish existing products I'll then be looking at what clean beauty alternative I can replace them with. This gift set that Weleda sent will certainly help me "clean" up my bathroom!

Weleda formulations are made with certified natural alternatives, are cruelty-free and many of their products are vegan too, so are a great way to go about reducing the amount of synthetic ingredients used on our skin. The Weleda range is available from www.weleda.co.uk

With thanks to Weleda for sending this giftset as part of the campaign.
