Happy Days: New Babies & Wedding Plans

Welcome to Happy Days! Katy and I host this linky with the purpose of inspiring you to make the most of each day, no matter what you've been up to, and to find happiness in every day. It's where I share the little moments that have brought me joy.

This week has been quite hard as Noah and Jude have been doing their utmost to make every day difficult for me: flooding the bathroom every time my back is turned, deliberately waking Essie up - no matter which part of the house I take her to nap they follow and shout right next to her, whyyyyyy?! - emptying my purse of the little money that I actually have, trashing all their toys and beating the living daylights out of each other. That along with all of the housework (bar some of the dishes that Ian does on some mornings), all of the laundry, all of the cooking and all of my work to keep up with, plus my stepchildren's daily antics, it's safe to say I am exhausted. But enough of that, this is meant to be a happy post!

So here's what has made me happy recently

• Wedding plans. On Monday we had our ceremony planning meeting and on Thursday I went for my dress fitting. My dress should be ready the week of the wedding - it's a very quick turnaround as I bought my dress so last minute! I just need to find some shoes now.

• New make-up. I am really loving the Natural Collection from Boots. I love their mascaras and got one of their new highlighters in Coral Glow. I find it doubles up as a blusher too so saves me a bit of time in the morning. I also love their concealer, and everything was just £1.99 each!

• New babies! Three of my friends have had babies in the past month, one a VBAC and one a home birth so super exciting. It's hard not to feel broody, despite having a newborn myself!

• Speaking of new babies, I finally got round to finishing writing Essie's birth story. You can read it here. I shared it on Facebook the other day and have received so many lovely comments - so thank you.

It's a bit of a short post this week, but there have still been a few happy moments despite it being a tough one. Fingers crossed next week is a bit kinder though!

What are you up to this weekend?

  7. Sounds like you've got your hands full. Kids love to push us when we're already feeling stressed/tired etc. Nothing like a newborn baby cuddle to install the calm until all hell breaks lose the next time......#HappyDaysLinky
