Mama & Mini Style: Petit Bateau Breton Stripes

I often see memes and funny posts on Facebook about how mums always dress in stripey tops, skinny jeans and Converse, but truth be told this has always been my favourite look, for years before I even became a mama! I'm drawn to striped clothes like a magpie is drawn to shiny things and at least half of the boys' wardrobes are full of stripes too. To keep our love affair with stripes going right into autumn, Petit Bateau sent the boys and I some of their gorgeous breton tops.

French brand Petit Bateau have been around since 1893 and the quality of their cotton clothing range is second to none. I have long been a fan of their iconic yellow raincoat and their breton striped shirts are just beautiful. I went for the ladies sailor top with a square neckline, while Little N has the whimsical boys' breton top and JJ has the heavy jersey sailor-style top with a gorgeous vintage 1920s sailboat badge.

All different, but all coordinating to create the perfect matching mama and mini look! Are you a fan of Petit Bateau? What are your favourite items from their range?

  6. How sweet!! I love matching clothes, my girls are always matching but I find it hard to match Kier's colour of clothing to the girls if they are wearing flowery dresses! Anything nautical is gorgeous for both boys and girls!
