Icons is the theme of the November beauty box from Birchbox, and features five products plus two extras.

♥ Laura Mercier Ambre Vanille Body Butter It was mentioned in the October box that there would be another Laura Mercier product this month so I was really excited about finding out what it was. I was secretly hoping it would be make-up, but I’m happy with this gorgeous smelling body butter. (25g)

♥ Weleda Replenishing Oat Shampoo I knew this was going to be in this month’s box after seeing the spoiler, I just can’t resist the temptation of looking! I love Weleda products and hope this shampoo will help my dry ends. (18ml)

♥  Spa Find Sculpted Silhouette Intensive Bust Firming Extract Serum Having spent the last 21 months of my life either pregnant or breastfeeding, it’s safe to say this is a product my boobs are looking forward to trying! (6ml)

♥ Chella Higlighter Pencil This is one of the things I love about beauty boxes: discovering new brands. I’ve not heard of Chella before but this looks like a good shade highlighter and I like the chunky pencil style. (1.4g)

♥ English Laundry Perfume This is a really light perfume with notes of quince, jasmine and musk. (2ml)

♥ Pukka Herbs Teas I got a sachet each of Three Cinnamon, Earl Grey and Elderberry & Echinacea. The teas are a ‘lifestyle extra’.

♥ Birchbox Pencil Sharpener Always handy to have! This is a ‘beauty extra’.

 I think I was a little spoilt by last month’s box as I’m not blown away this month; I’m happy with my box it just hasn’t got the “wow” factor that last month had!

I’ve raided my stash again this week and picked a few more products to use. It’s great seeing what products I’ve already got; I’m saving money by not immediately buying new and I’m also freeing up some space.

The warm weather has been causing my skin to breakout in a few pesky spots, but hopefully this Montagne Jeunesse Mud Pac face mask will help  

I moisturise my body every day without fail so this Dead Sea Spa Magik Silky Smooth Body Lotion will get used in no time 

I ran out of moisturiser so chose these two samples from Derma E to use as well as this tube of Blanc Cachemire Day Cream 

I have so many samples of perfume knocking around, this miniature bottle of Belle D’Opium was from the 2011 Selfridges Advent Calendar! 

I found this little bottle of Aromatherapy Associates Enrich Hair Oil and can’t wait to use it 

A lot of people love Lush Whip Stick lip balm but I have never tried it before, I do hope it’s good.

I’ve raided my stash again this week and picked a few more products to use. It’s great seeing what products I’ve already got; I’m saving money by not immediately buying new and I’m also freeing up some space.

A mixed bag of empties this month. Some products I’ve loved, some not so much. One of my favourite perfumes. Some products I’ve had in the drawer for ages, some I’ve used pretty much as soon as I got them.

Davines Authentic Moisturising Balm – Oops, I originally got this last year in a Joliebox (now called Birchbox). It’s a multi-purpose balm that can be used as a cleanser, body treatment and hair mask. I tried all three of those uses but actually my favourite use for it was as a shaving balm.

Mandara Spa Tropical Blooms Softening Body Cream – This smells amazing, I got it in a set at Christmas. Jasmine and ylang ylang, such a classic combination. It left my skin feeling smooooooth.

Natural Honey Body Milk – This came in the December Joliebox beauty box. It’s a light body lotion with a subtle scent that really reminds me of The Body Shop cocoa butter that I used when I was a teenager.

YSL Saharienne – I adore this perfume. It is perfect for summer. It smells of sandy beaches, white flowers, a citrus tang. Love love love it.

L’Oreal Elvive Full Restore 5 Mask – This was nice enough but didn’t do anything amazing. It was a sample sachet but it didn’t excite me enough go out and buy it.

Pantene Repair & Protect Shampoo – Another sample sachet. This was a nice shampoo with a really rich lather but I have a feeling that if I used it long-term it might make my hair feel a bit heavy.

Vichy LiftActiv Serum 10 Youth Enhancing Serum – I got a few of these sample sachets through the post, every week I seemed to receive another one! I like the serum for the face, I’m not keen on the one for the eyes though. I’ve got some more of them but I will give them to my friend.

Lush Grass Shower Gel – This little sample pot was given to my fiancé when he bought me some bath bombs while he was in France. They must have thought the bath bombs were for him as this shower gel has such a strong, masculine scent! It’s lovely, if you’re a man!

B/Attitude Body Soufflé – Originally when I received this in the May Birchbox I thought it smelled wonderful. By the time I finished the tub I was sick of it! The scent was so rich that it became sickly and the cream itself was really slow to sink in.

Omorovicza Thermal Cleansing Balm – I really like this cleanser, just not the price tag. You can read my review here.

VitaBella Anti Aging Face Mask – I got this in the July Birchbox and used it last weekend in preparation for my friend’s hen do. You can read my review here.

Elemental Herbology Cell Plumping Facial Hydrator – Like the B/Attitude Body Soufflé I received this in the May Birchbox. It smells so nice and is full of natural ingredients, but my skin didn’t love it.

July Empties

A mixed bag of empties this month. Some products I’ve loved, some not so much. One of my favourite perfumes. Some products I’ve had in the drawer for ages, some I’ve used pretty much as soon as I got them.

Shipping cost £2.95 but by using my points I only ended up paying £3.55 in total and Birchbox included a sample of Molton Brown Valbonne which I gave to my fiancé (it smells better on him).

The December beauty box from Joliebox arrived yesterday and it’s much better than last month’s box. I am a happy Joliebox subscriber once again!

The December Joliebox beauty box has a Party theme – although I think the theme should have been Spain, you’ll understand why in a minute. This month the design of both the box and the little drawstring bag has changed; it has a white and gold design instead of the usual black. The Menu card tells you what’s in your box and this month’s issue of Joliemag features Fiona Leahy.

There are seven products (or eight if you count the duplicates separately) in this month’s box, plus some bonus Lindt chocolates, yummy!

Color Club “Put A Pin In It” Nail Polish – This is one of two shades that were exclusively designed for Joliebox/Birchbox members. Put A Pin In It is a frosty rose gold shade and looks very pretty.

Natural Honey Body Milk – I’ve never heard of this brand before, the language on the bottle is Spanish so that’ll explain why! It smells nice, like shea butter, and I get through body lotions like there’s no tomorrow so I’'ll make good use of this.

Bella Pierre Shimmer Powder “Antiqa” – This is a dark purple-brown shade and is super shimmery. I think it will work really well with my green eyes and will create quite a dramatic look.

I Love… Cosmetics Shimmer and Shine Lipgloss – There’s always one product in a beauty box that doesn’t impress and this is it. Pale pink and smelling of sweets, I’ll probably give this to my 3 year old step-daughter.

Olay Regenerist Skin Cream -  I did think this is a bit random as Olay is such a well-known brand, why do they need to put their product in a beauty box?! And it appears to be a Spanish version. I don’t mind, I like moisturisers!

Doctor Duve Hand and Decollete Cream -  You get two sachets of this cream; one for your hands and one for your decollete perhaps? With the freezing cold weather these are perfect for my poor dry chapped hands.

Agua de Colonia Concentrada Alvarez Gomez – More Spanish stuff! It’s a really sweet, citrus fragrance. I quite like it, though not as a perfume. I might sprinkle it on my duvet to make my bedroom smell sweet.

I think it’s quite a good mix this month and (almost) back to Joliebox’s usual standards. I’m really pleased with the Bella Pierre Shimmer Powder and the Color Club Nail Polish.
