Playtime: That's not my monkey... Book & Toy | Review + Giveaway

If you're a parent and you're reading this, I bet your children have had at least one of the books from the That's not my... series from Usborne. These touchy-feely books have been best-sellers for many years and there are over 50 different titles in the range. I reckon Essie has about 20 of them so far, so we still have a fair few left to get in order to complete her collection! The latest one added to her shelf is That's not my monkey... which was sent to us along with a matching monkey comforter from Rainbow Designs to review.

The That's not my... books are fun and engaging board books with bright illustrations and textured areas which help children learn to recognise different sensations, and encourage interactive play and language awareness. All of the books follow the same theme: there is a little white mouse who is looking for someone, in this book that someone is his monkey. There is a different monkey on each page, but each one is not the one the mouse is looking for, because its ears are too soft or its tail is too velvety. The book goes on like this and each page has a corresponding textured patch for children to feel, before finally finding the right monkey at the end!

I am yet to meet a little one who doesn't love these books, and to make them even more fun Rainbow Designs have a gorgeous range of soft toys to match the books. Essie's monkey features bright colours, different textures like crinkly feet and a springy tail, as well as a teether and taggies. It also has an attachable clip which makes it easy to take on the go and it's suitable from birth. Together with the book it would make a wonderful gift for a new baby.

Essie gets me to read these books to her over and over again. She never grows tired of them and they have been brilliant for helping her to expand her vocabulary. And now she has her very own monkey to cuddle at story time.

That's not my... toys starts at £9.99 for the plush soft toys and £12.99 for the comforters, the books are £6.99. You can see the full range over at Rainbow Designs. Would you like to win a book and toy set just like Essie's? Simply complete one or more of the entry options below. Good luck! UK only, ends 25/08/2019.  Full T&Cs here.
