29 Weeks of Bump

29 weeks pregnant

I’m finally in the final trimester. It feels so strange to be on the countdown now! Baby is about the size of a butternut squash, 15.2-16.7 inches long and weighing about 2.5-3.8 lb. I feel massive. I am all bump and it just sticks out front! This baby is really strong, you can’t ignore the movements when it decides to have a roll about!
It’s so warm at the moment which is lovely but seems to make everything so much harder to cope with. I am getting through bags of ice cubes every day, not only to cool me down but because I love to crunch them! I suppose you could call that a craving.

Over the last four weeks I’ve been going to an NCT Refresher course. It’s for second-time (and more) parents to refresh your memory about what will happen during pregnancy and birth. However the truth is each of us went because we were all worried about how we would make friends once baby arrives, as we all have toddlers too. As a first-time mum I used to go to baby groups, made friends with other mums who I would then spend the afternoon with sitting in coffee shops, chatting and feeding our babies. It’s not really going to be the same this time round. I can’t take a toddler to baby groups (although can take baby to toddler groups!) and there is no way Little N would happily sit in a coffee shop for hours. I have lots of friends with toddlers the same age as Little N, but really I need to build a little network of friends who are in the same boat as me and will understand what I’m going through. Hopefully I have got that network now.

29 weeks down, 11 weeks to go!
