Happy Days: Sunshine & Splashing

Welcome to Happy Days! Katy and I host this linky with the purpose of inspiring you to make the most of each day, no matter what you've been up to, and to find happiness in every day. It's where I share the little moments that have brought me joy.

Hasn't the hot weather been insane this week?! It has reached 34 degrees here this week and pre-children I would have been utterly basking in it, but with a newborn baby I have never been happier to see rain on the forecast!

Here's what has made me happy recently

• Family BBQ. On Saturday we went to my parents' for a BBQ and to iron out some of our wedding plans. It is all coming together nicely now, I can't believe I get married in three weeks!

• Father's Day. I've found a new favourite place to eat - Duchy Pot in Hitchin. We went there for on Sunday with all of the children and had such a lovely time. It's the second time in a week that we've been there as we love it so much, it gets a big thumbs up from us all!

• Splash park. On Monday we went to the local splash park for the first time this year with Noah's school friends. The children got to cool off and have fun, while us mums had a good natter.

• Noah ate banana. Noah is still such a fussy eater, he will ocassionally eat like three or four peas but otherwise he will not touch fruit or vegetables. He's been like it since he was one! So him eating a bit a of banana made me SO happy!

• My Graco delivery. I'm part of #GenerationGraco this year and the delivery of products that I'll be reviewing over the coming months arrived. You guys will know that I love stripes, like seriously love stripes, so I was super excited to receive the Graco Evo Avant in Breton Stripe! I cannot wait to show you it!

• Catching up with Katy. We chat all the time online and have fleeting chats on the school run, but yesterday we actually managed to catch up properly, hurrah!

• Clothes. I have been finding so many gorgeous summer rompers for Essie - I might do a post to show you what I've got as they are super cute! I've also found a few lush dresses for me to wear that aren't nursing dresses, but are absolutely brilliant for breastfeeding in. Winning!

• Coffee with my soon-to-be mother-in-law. We mostly discussed details about the wedding which was fun and the children loved spending time with their grandma. It's something I hope we can do more often!

• Babywearing. For weeks Essie has hated my slings every time I have tried to wear her. It's been so disheartening as I kept all of my slings from when the boys were babies and really looked forward to babywearing again. Well, this week she has finally started enjoying it. The perseverance has paid off!

• Compliments. I often feel like I am just a useless mum when my house looks like a toy-filled bomb has gone off and no-one is listening to anything I say. So imagine how happy I was when on three separate occasions I was stopped by strangers in town to tell me that they were impressed to see how I cope with three children, and how lovely they think my children are. It made me day!

This weekend we are getting Ian and the children fitted for their wedding suits. What are you up to?

  2. Wow you've got loads going on and with a small baby as well. I think the weather is definitely giving us all a better outlook on life. it does also mean that we can sit in the garden after 'Mummy hours' even if it is to sit in an exhausted state x

  3. It IS crazy how you can be minutes away from a friend and yet rarely catch up in person! And yes, getting a random compliment from a stranger can really make all the difference can't it? Thanks for hosting #happydayslinky

  4. Essie is so precious, gosh she is adorable I am loving seeing her on Insta. I would be so happy if Adam would eat banana so I understand your joy over this, he is such a fussy eater. My to girls are amazing eaters, but Adam drives me crazy. #happydayslinky

  5. Sounds like a great week. I have a very fussy eater too and bananas are one of the few things she will eat, peas on the other hand will be met with a scream (unless they're chip shop mushy peas!).
