Fire Safety Month and Fireman Sam's Top Tips

Halloween and Bonfire Night are fast approaching and Fireman Sam has launched a nationwide campaign to raise awareness of fire safety for children. During October he has been sharing his top tips on how to stay safe at bonfires and fireworks displays, and has been bringing these important tips to life by featuring in animated videos with his team. I've teamed up with Mattel to share with you some of Fireman Sam's Top Fire Safety Tips!

Fireman Sam’s Top Tips

1) Light fireworks at arm's length and NEVER go back to a lit firework.

2) Always keep children a safe distance from fireworks.

3) Keep well away from bonfires and ensure that children are supervised at all times. Pets are best kept indoors.

4) Always wear gloves when handling sparklers and hold at arm’s length. Once finished, put in a bucket of water.

5) Finally, ensure you attend a well-organised fireworks display!

I've included one of Fireman Sam's helpful bonfire night safety video below and you can watch the rest of the videos HERE. They are a great way to ensure that all members of the family are aware of the potential fire hazards around the festivities this autumn.

Will you be going to see fireworks this year?
