Happy Days: Pool Parties & Maize Mazes

Welcome to Happy Days!  Katy and I host this linky with the purpose of inspiring you to make the most of each day, no matter what you've been up to, and to find happiness in every day. It's where I share the little moments that have brought me joy.

Hooray for the bank holiday weekend! I can't actually believe how quickly August has flown by, I'm feeling slightly panicky about the start of the school term as I still have some of Little N's uniform to get, and school shoes for him and my stepchildren. It's totally crept up on me!

Here's what has made me happy this week

• Spending the afternoon at my friend's house with all our kids. She has a fabulous garden with a big trampoline and an 8' inflatable paddling pool. Perfect for whiling away the scorching hot summer days!

• Awesome deliveries. I get so excited when new toys arrive for the children to review, it makes me so happy to see the delight on their faces. They have had some absolutely brilliant things arrive this week which I can't wait to share with you.

• Movie nights. Ian and I used to love renting DVDs from Blockbusters until it went bust and since then we've just not managed to keep up with all the new films. I discovered that our library rents DVDs for a few quid, yay! So we finally got round to watching Deadpool earlier in the week (amazing!) and tonight we'll be watching Batman vs Superman.

• GBBO. I have been so excited about the return of The Great British Bake Off, it is one of my absolute favourite tv programmes. I love bread week, gimme allllll the bread!

• JJ has learnt to jump with both feet. He has been practicing every day for about two weeks and this week he finally cracked it. He's so pleased with himself, it's really cute to watch.

• A family day out. Ian took Friday off work so we took all of the children over to Willows Farm for the day. I'll be sharing our day out in another blog post shortly, but the maize maze is amaaaazing (no pun intended) so I definitely recommend heading over for the day if you're local.

What are you up to this weekend? It's my Dad's birthday on Saturday and he is having a BBQ so we will be spending the day there. Fingers crossed the weather holds!

  6. We are meant to be having a bbq today with my parents - thankfully we won't be put off by a bit of drizzly rain! This evening, my daughter wants to bake cakes. We always try to do something together before bedtime as the majority of my attention in the day is taken up by her brother who is 10 and has severe learning disabilities OR her 13 month old sister. Busy busy house we have here.
Tomorrow, we are off for a long walk by a lake and lunch out somewhere. Should be fun :)

  7. I'm so happy GBBO is back! My husband was out on that night this week too, so I got to watch it uninterrupted! How cute that JJ is jumping - Max is still yet to master that skill! (He thinks he's doing it though, bless him!)
