Mini Style: Thomas & Friends Babywear

Last month the brand new Thomas & Friends babywear collection was launched at Tesco, with a range of adorable daywear, sleepwear, accessories and gifts all featuring the iconic little blue engine. Both of my boys are mad about Thomas & Friends, and J was really excited when his new pyjamas arrived. He wanted to try them on straight away, but then refused to take them off again, meaning I had to do the school run - the afternoon school run! - with him in his pyjamas. Toddlers, eh!

In the new Thomas & Friends collection there are lots of practical outfits for everyday, nightwear and accessories, all made from super soft cotton. All of the pieces in the range feature Thomas motifs and colourful prints with bright stripes, stars and engines. J's new two-piece pyjamas came in a two-pack with tops and bottoms that can be mixed and matched.

The first set of pyjamas has a white, long-sleeved top with blue trim, and red and white stripy bottoms. The top features a smiley Thomas and the words "peep peep" which J has now taken to saying all day long. The second set of pyjamas has a pale blue top with a sleeping Thomas motif and the words "little Thomas ran out of steam". The bottoms are white with lots of colourful stars all over.

The pyjamas are made with soft cotton and have envelope openings to the neck, so they are easy to put on and take off. There is plenty of room to grow with these pyjamas. J is now 21 months and starting to reach the top end in a lot of his 18-24 month clothes, but his pyjamas have been made with a lot of growing room. I expect they will last him well beyond his second birthday! As you'd expect the pyjamas are machine washable and can be tumble dried, too.

I'm really happy with the quality and fit of the Thomas & Friends pyjamas; sizing on children clothing can vary so wildly from brand to brand and it can often be difficult to know what size to go for. I'll be looking out for more Thomas & Friends babywear next time we are in a Tesco store. I have already spotted some gorgeous denim dungarees with a Thomas motif which I think will be fabulous for winter!

With thanks to Mattel for J's cute pyjamas.
